If you’re losing power in your pedal stroke, running stride or backswing, the problem probably starts at your feet. Inefficiency is both a precursor to injury—and the most significant barrier to stronger performance.
In this 5-hour workshop, we’ll explore common inefficiencies in the lower body and provide effective, sustainable measures to eliminate them. Participants will learn the theory behind proprioception, balance and power transmission while putting it all into action in real time. The Arch of the Foot: A Weapon, not a Cathedral
The most common model of the arch of the foot is not just overly-simplistic, it’s an inaccurate representation of the role of the arch in recycling force. We can do better.
The ankle is a simple saddle joint, but combined with the subtalar joint, a really ingenious tri-planar action emerges. Restrictive footwear like clipless pedal shoes, rock climbing shoes, or business formal shoes restrict the motion of the subtalar joint, and performance suffers if you can’t compensate. Luckily, you can.
Knees twist, folks, and they’re supposed to. Two of the seven most common sports injuries are knee injuries, and they both can be traced back to an inability of the knee to rotate in the right direction at the right time. The shortest path to a healthy knee is not a straight line.
This workshop is led by Reembody Method™ founder Kevin C. Moore.
