Carrie is a personal trainer and gym owner who offers a variety of coaching services to women in the Portland-metro area.
In 2012, Carrie Craven decided to pursue a career in health & wellness after overcoming her own struggles with weight loss and recurrent injuries. She discovered the Reembody Method in 2016, certified with the first cohort of RCAs in 2017, and completed the RCAP Level II in 2018.
Carrie understands that small amounts of activity add up to big changes; her general goal is to get clients moving in ways that they find enjoyable, instead of following a rote program of reps and sets. Carrie believes that versatility in training is essential for injury prevention, sustainable strength and mobility, and long term mental engagement. She supplements barbell training with kettlebells, TRX, bodyweight movements, and interval work.
Carrie specializes in working with older adults, and delights in their successes. In her own words: “When I hear how my client can now take the stairs instead of having to take the elevator … there’s truly nothing better!”
She loves that it works from the idea that the body already possesses all the tools to move and feel better (and just needs to be reminded that it has them). She believes that education, self awareness and a compassionate network of support can heal just about anything. She owns and operates Your Health First, LLC from her home in SW Portland, Oregon.
