Twisted Rose Yoga
Rose is an experienced yoga teacher and yoga therapist who took the RCA-20 as part of her two-year yoga therapy program through Functional Synergy.
She first experienced the potential of yoga over 16 years ago when she decided to try something completely different from running. She became a Yoga Alliance certified teacher at the 200hr level in March 2012, after studying with Lex Gillan of the Yoga Institute. She also certified at the 200hr level with the National Association of Certified Yoga Teachers.
More recently, she completed a certification in yoga for athletes through Sage Rountree, an internationally recognized authority in yoga for athletes and an endurance sports coach specializing in athletic recovery. An athlete and RRCA certified coach herself, Rose has been a runner since high school and has run distances from the 200m to a 50 mile ultra marathon and almost everything in between. Her favorite distance is the 13.1 mile half marathon. She's also played volleyball, badminton, and tennis and occasionally heads out for a tour on her bike. Between her husband and two kids, she's been around almost every sport from individual activities like triathlon, swimming, golf, and gymnastics to team sports such as baseball, football, and basketball. To say the least, she's had a lot of practice balancing the craziness of being a mom, wife and athlete and has conquered many smelly gym bags!
Because of her passion for working with athletes and tired and tight people in general, Rose completed a two-year yoga therapy training program with Susi Hately of Functional Synergy in the summer of 2018. This program is one of only a few International Association of Yoga Therapists (IAYT) Accredited Programs based in Canada.
