Building on the model learned in Module 1, Module 2 introduces more complex categorization of threat response behavior. By first understanding that maladaptive behaviors in the body still accomplish important functions, practitioners will be able to plan ahead for their clients long-term well-being.

Included in this reframing, we’ll take a deep dive into the mechanisms of pain, ensuring that pain signals are treated in a way that satisfies both the short term safety and long term wellness needs of the client.

Practitioners will also be encouraged to develop their spatial thinking skills to better spot and interpret body language and touch signals they receive from their clients. Understanding that humans process spatial data differently than categorical data is important for leveraging the right tools for the right jobs.
