This episode of the Reembody podcast presents a smattering of excerpts from recent “office hours” sessions: bi-weekly, hour-long call-in discussions between Kevin Moore and his apprentices. There are two main parts:
Act I (through about 19:00) addresses panic attacks; how and when—and when not—to manipulate the head and cervical spine; and a problem that is commonly found among our musician apprentices: forgetting how to integrate the lower body with the upper body during rehearsals or performances. (This is more common than you might think!)
Act II (19:00 onward) continues on the theme of musician problems with a classical musician whose bow hand is in excruciating pain every time she plays. We troubleshoot laterality and offer a series of corrective exercises designed to reintegrate the upper body into the system whole.
